This is the personal website of John Barron, UK Pirate and digital freedom campaigner.
I am a 40-something computer consultant, long-term free software advocate, and since the UK Pirate Party formed in July 2009 I’ve been busy as a digital freedom activist within the party. From November 2009 until June 2011 I served as the Nominating officer for the party, taking responsibility for getting PPUK candidates through the formalities and on to the ballot paper, and also for some internal party administrative requirements.
I presently live in Maidenhead, United Kingdom, having moved here in January 2011 when my present employer relocated our office into the area.
These pages are where you will find most of my political and Pirate activity, I also have a Facebook page which is updated on a more casual and everyday basis.
